The Lakeland volleyball team traveled to Jamestown Community College today to face the Jayhawks in non-league action. The Lakers wasted no time in getting started as they jumped on the Jayhawks immediately and never let up as they rolled to the 3-0 (25-4, 25-7, 25-10) victory. With the win, Lakeland improved to 2-1 on the season. Lakeland dominated all facets of the game in earning the win. Coach Watts commented, "I challenged the team to play harder and faster throughout the match. They all worked to do that as every player contributed tonight."

Taylor Williams-Stevens led the way with 8 kills and 10 aces. Avrie Shenkel was 6-8 in kills to attacks and also recorded 4 aces. Sydney Park had 8 kills and 3 digs while Alyssa Lino had 4 kills in 5 attacks. Abby Karasek was a perfect 3 for 3 in kills and atacks while Samantha Winter finished with a team high 19 assists. Allison Hedrick recorded 5 assists while Estella Dotson picked up 3 digs in the Laker win.

Player of the Game: All of the players deserve credit today as they all really showed their skills in helping us win. However, Taylor Williams-Stevens had an exceptionally strong game as she went on some nice service runs with her aces while also connecting on several kills.

Watt's Word: "I was really please with our team effort today. Everyone on the team contributed and it's nice watching the team start to come together. We have some tough matches coming up and I look forward to watching us continue to grow as a team."
