The Lakeland volleyball team played host to the Jamestown Jayhawks tonight in non-league volleyball action and rolled to a convincing 3-0 (25-13, 25-8, 25-17) victory. In game one, the teams were tied at 5 before the Lakers when on a run with solid serving and strong net play to take a commanding 16-8 lead. Lakeland would not look back as they took the win. The Lakers continued to roll in game 2 as they took an early lead and just outplayed their opponents in all facets of the game. From there, Lakeland sailed to the straight set win.
Samantha Winter had 21 assists and 3 aces while Alyssa Lino finished with 7 kills and 2 aces to help pace the Lakers. Taylor Williams-Stevens also finished the match with 7 kills while Brianna Doolittle recorded 6 kills and 2 digs. Sydney Park picked up 4 kills and 2 aces while Avrie Shenkel finished with 3 kills and 2 digs. Rebecca Ferrell led the Lakers with 5 aces while Allison Hedrick picked up 5 assists. Estella Dotson had a strong game adding 2 kills and 2 digs while Abby Karasek recorded 2 kills and a dig. Zoe Babnik picked up 2 digs in the Laker win.
