The Lakeland women's volleyball team made the long trip to Piqua today and ran into a buzz saw as they faced off against the Edison State Chargers. The Lakers fell by a score of 3-0 (11-25, 17-25, 11-25). The Lakers were never able to get on track during the match as the Chargers took advantage of the Lakers errors throughout the evening.

Sydney Park led the team with 10 kills while Avrie Shenkel finished with 5 kills. Taylor Williams-Stevens chipped on with 3 kills and 3 blocks while Alyssa Lino added 3 kills for the Lakers. Samantha Winter finished the match with 17 assists, 3 digs, and 2 aces while Zoe Babnik picked up 3 digs and 3 assists. Estella Dotson collected 3 digs while Allison Hedrick finished with a pair of digs.

Watts' Word: "It was a difficult match for us. After the long trip, we did not come out and play to our ability. We're having difficulty making some adjustments while we are improving in other areas. We need to put this behind us quickly and come out tomorrow with better effort and energy."

Next Up: The Lakers have a quick turnaround as they will be at Hocking College tomorrow (9/28) to face off against the Hawks. The match is scheduled to start at 11:00 am.
