The Lakeland volleyball team played host to the Hocking Hawks on Sophomore Night at Laker Gym and came away with a convincing 3-0 victory (25-11, 25-11, 25-10). The Lakers started off falling into a quick 6-2 hole in the first set. The Lakers quickly regrouped and took control of the set as they were led by strong team defense, net play, and serving. The Lakers wasted no time getting going in sets 2 and 3 as they continued their strong effort and cruised to the win.
Avrie Shenkel had a team high 10 kills and a solo block while Alyssa Lino finished her evening with 9 kills, 6 aces, and a solo block. Sydney Park recorded 7 kills, 5 aces and 4 digs while Taylor Williams-Stevens collected 5 kills, an ace, and 2 digs. Samantha Winter led the team with 32 assists and added 4 digs and a kill while Zoe Babnik had a team high 6 digs and a kill. Abby Karasek finished her evening with 2 kills and a solo block while Estella Dotson picked up 4 aces, 3 digs, and an assist. Allison Hedrick collected a pair of aces and a dig while Rebecca Ferrell added an assist and a dig in the Laker win.
