OCCAC All-Academic List

Lakeland Community College student-athletes earned 20 Ohio Community College Athletic Conference (OCCAC) All-Academic certificates during the 2023 spring semester. The certificates were spread across seven Lakeland teams and 17 individuals.

Each semester the OCCAC recognizes student-athletes who have achieved a 3.30 grade-point average (GPA) or higher with 12 completed credit hours during the semester. The conference also extends special recognition to those who achieved a perfect 4.0 GPA during the semester.

Laker softball garnered the most All-Academic certificates among the college's eight programs with six, including sophomores Gina Grandini (Painesville, OH/Lake Catholic), Tatianna Matuz (Jefferson, OH/Jefferson) and Samantha Toke (Mantua, OH/Crestwood). Freshman softball players also making the list included Kennedy Danna (Streetsboro, OH/Streetsboro), Autumn Fester (Eastlake, OH/Eastlake North) and Megan Szczecinski (Streetsboro, OH/Streetsboro).

Lakeland women’s basketball netted four honorees, including sophomores Madison Fueger (Parma, OH/Normandy), Brandy Smith (Orwell, OH/Grand Valley) and Delaney Sullivan (Parma, OH/Normandy). Laker freshman Dominique Wright (Akron, OH/St. Vincent-St. Mary’s) also received conference honors for the spring semester.

Sophomores Kyle Zaluski (Chagrin Falls, OH/Chagrin Falls), Caden Gopalakrishna (Macedonia, OH/Macedonia) and freshman Michael Beckman (Willowick, OH/Eastlake North) represented Lakeland baseball on the All-Academic list, while Jared Snodgrass (Eastlake, OH/Eastlake North) and freshman Jose Valdez (Painesville, OH/Harvey) were recognized from the esports team.
