Lakers esports falls to Vikings

The Lakeland esports teamm faced off against the Westchester Community College Vikings on friday and dropped a 2-0 decision to the Vikings in NBA2K. Lakeland's Andres Lujan-Salas suited up for the Lakers.

Game1

Lujan-Salas chose the Minnesota Timberwolves while Westchester picked the Los Angeles Clippers. The game was a back and forth affair throughout the game. Lakeland held the lead 12-10 after the first quarter and then 25-22 at the half as neither team was able to go on a significant run. The game ightened up even more and Lakeland led 43-42 after 3 quarters. Late in the 4th quarter, Lakeland was ahead 59-55 before Westchester hit back to back 3-pointers to give the Vikings a 61-59 lead. Lakeland then fouled  with 4 seconds left in the game in an attempt to have one more chance to tie or regain the lead. Unfortunately, the Vikings player sand both free throws to give them a 63-59 win.

Game 2
Andres Lujan-Salas selected the Cleveland Cavilers while Westchester remained the LA Clippers. again the teams were back-and-forth during the 1st quarter and the period ended with the teams tied at 10. The 2nd quarter mirrored all the previous [play as both teams continued to battle in a close match. The teams went into the half tied at 26. In the 3rd quarter, the Vikings went on a 10-2 run to finish the 3rd quarter  and give westchester a 40-30 lead. Lakeland was unable to recover form this hole and eventually fell 63-37.

Lakeland's record falls to 5-1 on the season.
