The Lakeland Lakers NBA2K team played the Carl Albert State Vikings in the playoffs on Friday evening (12/2). Andres Lujan-Salas was the Lakeland rep in this contest. The Lakers fell to the Vikings by a score of 2-0 to finish out their fall schedule in NBA2K.

Game 1

The Lakers Andres Lujan-Salas chose the Minnestoa Timberwolves for game 1 while the Vikings chose the Memphis Grizzlies. The Vikings jumped out to an early lead in the 1st quarter with Lujan-Salas battling back to end the quarter trailing 17-10. CAS would then go on a run in the second quarter that put the Vikings up 35-18 at the half. Though Lujan-Salas made some adjustments in the fourth quarter, it was not enough to overcome the deficit and the Lakers fell by a final score of 70-31.

Game 2

In game 2, the Lakers chose the Atlanta Hawks while Carl Albert countered with the New Orleans Pelicans. Again, Lakeland battled early, but were unable to overcome a hot second quarter by the Vikings when they hit back-to-back 3 pointers to give them a 43-19 lead at the half. With the season on the line, Lakeland's Lujan-Salas used timeouts, substitutions, and formation changes to chip away at the lead. Unfortunately, it was too much to overcome and the the Lakers lost game 2 by a final score of 80-45.
