The Lakers played Dallas College Cedar Valley in the NJCAAE FIFA National Semi-Finals
Game 1: Lakeland 1 – 2 Northwest College
Northwest College opened the game with the first goal of the series scoring on the kickoff. In the 60th min Lakeland challenged in the box leading to a Northwest penalty, putting the Trappers up 2-0. The Lakers responded in the 72nd minute scoring a goal from the right-side cutting in. Lakeland had an opportunity to score from a cross header that went wide. Southwest wins game one 2-1.
Game 2: Lakeland 1– 3 Northwest College
Lakeland had an attempt on goal in the 5th minute, but Southwest was able to defend and score off the counterattack. Northwest scored two goals late in the half passing through Lakelands defenders. The Lakers scored their first goal of the game in the 58th after intercepting in the midfield and a give and go pass beating the keeper. Northwest held on to win game two 3-1.
Game 3: Lakeland 0 – 5 Northwest College
Lakeland played a strong defensive first half, but Northwest was able to score a hat-trick late in the half to take a 3-goal lead. The Lakers continued to struggle offensively missing the net wide in the 70th minute. Northwest scored two additional goals to win the match 5-0.
