Men's down Chargers to win OCCAC Title

The Lakers men's basketball team traveled to Edison State to face the Chargers today. On the line for the Lakers was the outright OCCAC Championship. Lakeland delivered in convincing fashion as they rolled to a 105-87 victory. The Lakers final regular season record was 22-5 and 14-2 in OCCAC play. With the win, the Lakers will be the #1 seed out of Ohio in the District Championships in Flint, MI at Mott Community College. The Lakers will play on Friday, March 10 - the time and opponent are yet to be determined. Coach Eskridge commented, "It was an overall great team win. We shot the ball well and played solid defense. I've been pleased with our effort all season and I'm proud of the team accomplishment of winning the conference. We'll now get an opportunity to rest up and get ready for the next round."

The Lakers had 5 players finish in double digits in scoring. Jaidon Lipscomb led the way with 29 points while Zach Wartley finished with 24 points. Wartley and Lipscomb were on fire beyond the arc as they both connected with 7 3-pointers. Jaden Woods finished his afternoon with 19 points and Elhadji Thiam added 14 points in the Lakers win. Landon Tillman scored 13 points for the Lakers.
