Men's basketball tops Titans

The Lakeland men's basketball team, currently ranked 13th in the country by the NJCAA D II polls, traveled to Terra State tonight to face off against the Titans. Lakeland would use a dominating second half to cruise to a 83-67 victory. The two teams battled throughout the first half with neither team being able to take control. The Titans led the Lakers 40-39 at the break. Lakeland came out of the break fired up as they clamped down on the Titans. The Lakers defensive energy and intensity carried them to the convincing win in the second half.

Lakeland would have a balanced attack as they played 15 players and still allowed just 67 points. Alex Benson led the way offensively for Lakeland scoring 19 points. Mark Wise finished with 13 points. Ansoumane Oulare scored 8 points while Jareon Mayo finished with 7 points for the Lakers. Adam Williams, Chris Tackett, and PJ Daniels each chipped in 6 points while Dasjaun Williams added 5 points in the Laker win.

T's Thoughts: "We played great team defense during the second half. We were able to play everyone and it was a solid team effort. We have asome time off now which we'll use get better at some things and get fully healthy."

Next Up: The Lakers will play host to the Lorain County Commodores on Saturday, December 16. The game is scheduled to begin at noon.
