The Lakeland men's basketball team continued it's challenging non-league schedule today as they traveled to Kent State Tuscarawas to face off against the USCAA's DI 3rd ranked Bryant & Stratton Buffalo Bobcats. The NJCAA's 9th ranked Lakers bounced back from a difficult game yesterday to defeat the Bobcats 89-84. This was a game of runs as both teams took advantages of each others periods of cold shooting and turnovers. Both teams led by 10 points at one point in the game. The Lakers used mass subbing to their advantage as they were able to keep their legs fresh and the energy level high in finally taking a 6 point lead with 15 minutes left in the game. Lakeland then played a little loose with the ball as they committed a few turnovers to let the Bobcats back into the game. Lakeland was able to hit several key free throws down the stretch to secure the win.

Lakeland had 11 players score overall and were led by Jareon Mayo with 17 points. Alex Benson had a strong game scoring 13 points while Brandon Lane finished with 11 points and was credited with strong defensive play to help thwart the Bobcats. Dondi Harper picked up 8 points while Justin Covington finished with 6 points for Lakeland. PJ Daniels, Adam Williams, and Ansoumane Oulare each chipped in 5 points in the Laker win.

Next Up: The Lakers will have a break over the holidays before traveling to Erie Community College on Saturday, Jan. 6th to face off against the ECC Kats. Game time is scheduled for 3:00 pm.
