Lakers men's soccer rolls over Red Hawks

The Lakeland men's soccer team has been struggling a bit as of late. On Saturday, they were able to correct some issues and rolled up the visiting Lake Michigan Red Hawks 7-0. With the win, the Lakers upped their record to 4-3-1 in conference play. Omani Leacock would record the hat trick in the first half as he scored three goals on assists from Tyler Meano and Hokeun Jee (2 assists). In the second half, the Lakers continued to pressure the Red Hawks as Omar Alumtairi, Ammaar Harris (PK), Jee, and Zavier Parris each netted goals for the Lakers.

Lakeland outshot the Red Hawks 20-6 as Chanyong Kim and Niklas Gothe split the shutout.

Kettani's Comments: "Great rebound and great win. We played true to our game and the team executed well. Great game for the conference."

Next up: On Tuesday (10/5), the Lakers will travel to Lost Nation Sport Park to play a scrimmage against the Force USL U19 at 5:15pm. They will then play host to Muskegon Community College next Friday (10/8) in a 2 pm tilt at Laker Field.
