The Lakers men's soccer team traveled to Lake Michigan College on Saturday and defeated the Red Hawks in a key Region XII match by a score of 4-0. With the win, the Lakers moved into a tie with Jackson College for the final post-season spot. The Lakers hold the tiebreak against the Jets from their victory over Jackson earlier this season. Lakeland started the scoring at the 30:53 mark of the first half when Omani Leacock converted on a thru pass from Kyle Roundy. Lakeland picked up their intensity after the goal and controlled most of the half before Xander Bergiers made it 2-0 with 5 minutes to go before the break. In the second half, Lakeland continued to carry the play and Edgar Camarillo netted a goal 30 minutes in on a pass from Omani Leacock. The Lakers final goal came 5 minutes later off of a corner kick. A Harrison Smith header off of a corner from Roberto Marquez was converted by Julio Espinoza. Lakeland outshot the Red Hawks 10-2 and held an 11-3 advantage in corners. Dominic Grobler was credited with 2 saves in the shutout win.

Next Up: The Lakers are scheduled to travel to Lorain County Community College on Wednesday for a 5:30 tilt against the Commodores.
