Men's soccer fall to Tribunes

The men's soccer team played host to the Monroe Community College Tribunes on Saturday in a non-league matchup. Despite a strong start from the Lakers, they eventually fell to Monroe CC 3-1. The Tribunes got on the board 10 minutes into the game as they converted a crossing pass with a header past Lakers netminder Dominic Grobler. The Lakers Julio Espinoza tied it up netting a goal just before the half on a nice pass from Adan Tejada. Lakeland came out with a strong effort in the second half, but the Tribunes were able to convert on a couple of scoring opportunities to net the win. Coach Mayer commented, "We had a decent effort, but give credit to Monroe, as they played well. We'll get back at it this week and close out the regular season strong."

Next Up: The Lakers conclude the regular season by hosting the Cuyahoga Community College Triceratops on Saturday (10/22) at Laker Field. The match is scheduled to begin at noon.
