The Lakeland womens softball team played host to Terra State today and swept the Titans by the scores of 5-2 and 13-5. In game 1, the Lakers jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first inning. Carmen Alvarez was hit by a pitch before Peyton Trick walked. Both runners advanced on catchers indifference before Astianna Coppes hit a fielders choice getting C. Martinez at the plate. Trick would later score on a wild pitch. After the Titans tied the score in the 3rd inning, the score would remain tied at 1 until Lakeland plated 2 runs in the 5th inning. Astianna Coppes got things going with a single before Midaliz Alvarez singled. Both runner advanced on a Lillyan Agostine fielder's choice before the runners scored on a 2 RBI-single from Abby Haydu. The Lakers would score two more runs in the bottom of the 6th inning to salt the game away. Keys in the inning included a Peyton Trick single and an Astianna Coppes RBI fielders choice.

Abby Haydu led the way for the Lakers as she collected 2 hits and 2-RBI's. Astianna Coppes added a hit and RBI while Carmen Alvarez, Midaliz Alvarez, Peyton Trick, and Reagan Hayes each picked up a hit in the win.

In game 2, the Lakers jumped out early and put the game away against the Titans. The Lakers led 2-0 after 1 inning when Carmen Alvarez singled and advanced on Peyton Trick's fielders choice. C. Alvarez would then score on an Astianna Coppes double before Lillyan Agostine followed with an RBI-double. After the Titans cut the score to 2-1 in the top of the 2nd inning, the Lakers would add 2 more runs in the home half of the inning, Reagan Hayes walked and was later followed by a 2-run blast from Carmen Alvarez. Lakeland would then shut the Titans down in the 3rd inning before exploding for 6 more runs. Abby Haydu and Reagan Hayes both singled to start the Lakers inning. Megan Szczecinski then walked to load the bases before Kennedy Danna was hit by a pitch to force in a run. C. Alvarez followed with an RBI-double, Peyton Trick hit a 2-RBI single, and Astianna Coppes hit an RBI-single to finish out the Laker scoring. From there, Lakeland cruised to the victory.

Astianna Coppes, Carmen Alvarez, and Peyton Trick all picked up 3 hits and 3 RBI's. Lillyan Agostine and Midaliz Alvarez each added a hit and RBI while Abby Haydu and Reagan Hayes each added a hit in the win. On the mound, Leah Richter pitched 5 innings and allowed 5 earned runs on 7 hits,  

Next Up: The Lakers will travel to Cuyahoga tomorrow to face the Triceratops at 3:00 pm.
