The Lakeland women's basketball team hosted the Erie Community College Kats tonight and wasted little time in dominating the game. The Lakers used a suffocating press and fast tempo to overwhelm the Kats in the first quarter by a score of 26-6.  The Lakers really coasted much of the rest of the game as they were not pressured throughout. Lakeland led 42-20 at the half and increased their lead to 62-27 by the end of the 3rd quarter before winning by a final score of 73-39. After the 1st quarter, the Lakers relaxed the press and instead relied on oustanding passing to control the game. Throughout the evening, Lakeland made the extra pass, the unselfish play, and it led them to a convincing win over the Kats. With the victory, the Lakers improved to 3-0 on the season.  Zion Fussell led the balamced attack with 19 points while Madison Fueger added 16 points in the win. Mya James finished with 11 points and Makayla Gordon chipped in 8 points. Alesia Marshall and Gianna Pegoraro both scored 5 points while Domunique Wright and Micaha Marbury each finished with 4 points in the win.

Players Perspective:

Delaney Sulivan: "We really did a great job sharing the ball. We had good energy throughout the game. It was a good win for our team. We still have to keep working to improve though, but I really like my team(mates)."

Gardy's Gab:  "We really had great ball movement throught. We finished well and really played like one unit. This is the first time all year that we've had a lead early - so that was a obviously a better start. We'll keep working to improve and try to improve our consistency. We are looking forward to our next challenge."

Next Up: The Lakers will travel to Lorain on Saturday (11/12) to face the Lorain County Commodores in a non-league matchup. Tipoff is scheduled for 1:00 pm. This game was scheduled after Lakeland learned of Friday night's cancellation by Aquinas College.
