Women's basketball falls at Tri-C

The Lakeland women's basketball team traveled to Cuyahoga Communirty College tonight and fell by a score of 70-58. The Lakers got off to a good start and led 14-11 at the end of the 1st quarter. Lauren Perry scored 6 points and Trinity Jackson added 4 points in the opening frame to pace Lakeland. Tri-C battled back in the second period as they took control of the game. The Triceratops took advantage of Laker miscues to go into the break with a 28-23 lead. In the second half, the Lakers were unable to cut into the lead as Cuyahoga earned the win.

Lakeland finished with a balanced scoring attack as four players finished in double digits. Lauren Perry and Trinity Jackson each scored 12 points while Mya James and Batoul Khaleefah each finished their night with 10 points. Layla Von Berndt, Monica Devine, and Hilda Ismail each added 4 points in the Laker loss.

Next Up: The Lakers will play at home on Saturday (1/20) as they face off against the Clark State Eagles. Tip-off is scheduled for 3:00 pm.
