The Lady Lakers traveled to Muskegon today to take on the defending champion Jayhawks. Unfortunately for Lakeland, they suffered a 7-0 defeat and evened their record at 1-1 (0-1). Lakeland was outshot 34-2 in the contest and the Laker's Sarah Turniski made 14 saves in net. For the Jayhawks, Sammy Hecht netted a pair of goals while there were 6 different scorers in total. Muskegon's Nora Brown also controlled much of the play in leading the Jayhawks to the win. 

Sivik Sentiments: "Muskegon is a quality team and they most likely will be the team to beat again in the conference. I thought Sarah did a great job in goal and our center mids Aria, Rae, and Michell got better as the game progressed." 

Next up: The Lakers hit the road again next weekend as they travel to Lake Michigan College to take on the Redhawks in a 1:00 pm kickoff.
