Lakers women's soccer drops match to Lady Red Hawks

The Lady Lakers soccer team played host to the Lake Michigan Red Hawks Saturday dropping a 4-1 decision. With the loss, the Lakers fall to 5-5 (3-5). This game started quickly as the Red Hawks Maggie Berridge struck just one minute into the match. Lakeland's Molly Vitcusky (St. Peter's HS) would answer for Lakeland just 30 seconds later as she converted a beautiful cross from Makayla Bolon (Lawrence School). The game would remain tied until the 28th minute when the Red Hawks netted the eventual game winning goal from Alyssa Krenek. The Red Hawks would add two more in the second half to seal the game.

Gina Grandini (Lake Catholic HS) made 9 saves in net for the Lady Lakers.

Sivik's Sentiments: "LMCC is a quality team that is well coached. We gave up the early goal, but were able to respond quickly. Grandini made some quality saves while both Aria (Evans-Roskos, Kirtland HS) and Rae (Sirl, Eastlake North HS) played well in the middle. We are just dealing with too many injuries right now, but I was very happy with some of the improvements we made on the field."

Next up: The Lady Lakers will play host to Muskegon Community College next Saturday (10/9) in a 1pm tilt against the Jayhawks at Laker Field.
