Lakers women's soccer downed by Red Hawks

The Lakers women's soccer team traveled to Lake Michigan College on Saturday to face off against the Red Hawks in a pivotal Region XII match. The Lakers were playing shorthanded today and eventually fell to the Red Hawks by a 2-0 score. The two teams battled all day and were scoreless until the 75th minute of the match when Lake Michigan converted a penalty kick. The Red Hawks then netted their secong goal in the 82nd minute to finish out the scoring. Coach Mallon commented, "We had good midfield possession today and played smart on defense. It was a real good effort with a short bench."

Gina Grandini, Carli Salatino, and Natalie Pawlowski were named players of the game for the Lakers.

Next Up: The Lakers travel to Lorain County Community College on Wednesday to face the Commodores in a 3:30 pm match.
