Women's soccer falls to Bruins in season finale

The Lakeland women's soccer team played host to the Kellogg Bruins today at Laker Field. The two teams were matched up with the winner earning a spot in the post-season tournament. It was not the Lakers day today as they allowed 2 first half goals and were unable to catch up as they fell 2-0 to the Bruins. Kellogg controlled much of the game as the Lakers managed two shots on goal while the Bruins held a 5-3 advantage in corners. Domunique Wright and Lila Malkamaki recorded the shots for Lakeland. Gina Grandini finished the game with 6 saves for the Lakers.

The players of the game for Lakeland were Natalie Pawlowski, Carli Salatino, and Christina Vanah. Coach Mallon commented, "The coaching staff and I are very proud of the team. We really improved throughout the season. I am proud of our efforts. We wish our sophomores the best of luck in the future and thank them for their efforts this season."

The Lakers finished their season with a 6-6-1 record.
