The Lakeland volleyball team traveled to Owens Community College to face the NJCAA's 5th ranked Express. Lakeland fell to Owens 3-0 by the scores of 12-25, 9-25, and 14-25. Lakeland battled throughout the match, but in the end, they were unable to hold off the Express' attack. Stats were not available at time of print; however, Maisie Burlison and Erica Merth each recorded several solo blocks while Kaitlynn Minarik had double digit digs. 

Miozzi Mentions: "The scores were not indicative of the way we played. We held our own, but had some difficulty with our serve receive at times which impacted our offensive flow. We had spurts where we played well, but not consistently enough against a good team. We need to put this behind us quickly with another tough opponent coming on a short turnaround."

Next Up: The Lakers will play host to the Terra State Titans on Monday (9/26) at 6:00 pm in Laker gym.
