The Lakeland volleyball team played host to Edison State on Friday night and fell to the Chargers 3-0. The scores of the games were 21-25, 19-25, and 20-25. The Lakers continued to battle throughout the games and had opportunities to win all three games. Unfortunately, the nemesis for Lakeland has been a rough patch at some point during each game and it happened again tonight. Despite the loss, Coach Miozzi commented,"We really did a lot of good things tonight. We were real close in all games, but just couldn't overcome our critical mistakes. The effort and attitude continues to be very good. I'm looking forward to watching us come out tomorrow and compete."

Leading the way for the Lakers was freshman Erica Merth who finished the night with 18 kills and 6 blocks. Maisie Burlison recorded 9 kills while Astianna Coppes picked up 7 kills. Sophomore Madison Tatka added 5 kills and Tatianna Matuz paced the Lakers with 31 assists.

Next Up: On Saturday (10/15), the Lakers will play host to the Clark State Eagles at 11:00 am in Laker Gym.
