The Lakeland women's volleyball team hosted the Clark State Eagles and came away with a convincing 3-0 victory. The scores of the match were 25-22, 25-20, and 25-13. The Lakers came out with good energy and finshed the every game strong in the win. Play was dominated by the middles, Erica Merth and Maisie Burlison. Setter Tatianna Matuz also had a strong match while Kaitlynn Minarik played great defense in the win. 

Maisie Burlison led the way for the Lakers with 16 kills and 6 blocks. Erica Merth also had a strong match and finished with 15 kills and 3 blocks.  Astianna Coppes finished her night with 5 kills while sophomore Madison Tatka recorded 4 kills for the Lakers.  Tatianna Matuz finished the game with 4 kills and 29 assists.

Lakeland's lone sophomore, Madison Tatka, was recognized at the match for her two-year career.

Coach Miozzi commented, "I am so happy for the team. We continue to work hard and battle every game. It was nice to see their hard work pay off tonight. I also want to congratulate and wish the best to Madison. She's has put in good effort the past two years and I appreciate all that she has done. I know that she will continue on and accomplish many great things in her future."

Next Up: The Lakers will host the Owens Express on Wednesday (10/19) in their final home match of the season at Laker gym. Game time is scheduled for 6:00 pm.
