The Lakeland volleyball team traveled to Hocking College today to face the Hawks in conference play. The Lakers continue to play hard and took a 3-0 decision with game scores of 25-15, 25-22, and 25-19. All season, the Lakers have battled and played almost every team close. Six of their losses have been in 5 games and many of their other games have been tight throughout the season. With that said, the Lakers have started to put it together lately. Lakeland has won 2 of its last 3 matches as the mostly freshman roster has really worked hard to improve. Coach Miozzi commented, "This was a really nice team win. Everyone on the roster contributed. I'm really proud of the girls how they have continued to work to improve and we have started to get some results. They have done a really nice job continuing to compete. It's been enjoyable to watch their development."

Erica Merth and Madison Tatka led the team with both recording double digit kills (13 and 10 respectively). Maisie Burlison finished with 8 kills while Astianna Coppes finshed her night with 7 kills and 5 aces. Tatianna Matuz finished the match with 29 assists and 3 aces.

Next Up: The Lakers close out their season on Monday night (10/24) when they travel to Terra State to take on the Titans. The match is scheduled to begin at 6:00 pm. The Lakers played and lost to the Titans earlier in the season in another tight match. The scores were 22-25, 23-25, and 25-27.
