Volleyball grounded by Eagles

The Lakeland volleyball team continued its southern swing by facing the Clark State Eagles this morning. The Lakers suffered a 3-0 (10-25, 15-25, 18-25) defeat to the Eagles in a match that was much closer than the score. The Lakers got off to a bit of a slow start, but continued to battle and improve with every game. Unfortunately for the Lakers, the slow start put them in a hole that they were unable to recover from.

Lakeland players of the game were Erica Merth and Kaitlynn Minarik.

Statistics were not available at the time of this release.

Watts' Word: "We are still working through and adjusting with different lineups. We are looking for the right chemistry to carry us with strong play for the rest of the season. We started pretty slow today, but improved with each set. We just didn't have enough time. Ultimately, we need to maintain the mindset of starting strong and staying strong throughout the match."

Next Up: The Lakers will travel to Toledo, OH on Wednesday to face off against the Owens Express. The match is scheduled to begin at 6:00 pm.
